Become a Cheer Coach

Are you interested in joining the cheer world? We have just the opportunity for you!

If you are outgoing, creative, supportive and want a chance to get behind the scenes of what's going on in Parker Hawks Cheer, we would love to have you on our team of coaches! We need volunteers to keep this program running.  Please let us know if you are interested in helping in any capacity.

You may ask yourself, am I qualified?

The answer is YES!

Whether you have experience in cheerleading or not, you will be equipped with all the materials necessary to help you become an amazing coach for these young athletes.

Our current cheer coaches are holding a coaches Training Camp at the end of May, more details will be released soon. If you have any further questions on our Training Camp please contact us: Cheerleading@parkerhawks.org We would love to have you on our team! We can't wait to hear from you! We do run standard background checks on all coaches. Here are a few areas that we’ve defined in more detail to give you an idea of what’s needed but we can use all volunteers in any capacity!

Team Coach

These coaches would be responsible for their team on game day and would run their team practices. We recommend a Team Coach and Assistant Coach per team. The Head Coaches will provide training and all materials for your team, but you would have the freedom to make modifications to cheers and dances as needed. We will also have a stunt expert helping your team for halftime routines.

 Leads and schedules team practices

Makes modifications to cheers for team as needed

Helps choreograph halftime routines with assistance from our stunt expert

Runs game day - organizes team, plays music and helps to call cheers

Brings cheer equipment to games and practices – speaker, poms, shade/chairs

 Team Manager/Assistant

This can be whatever you make it, but it is a great help to the team coaches.

Assistants would help organize the cheerleaders at practices and on game days and could possibly manage the following:

Sets up/blocks off spots for cheerleaders to stand on game day

Brings equipment to game such as, poms, signs, chairs, shade, speaker

Organizes team bonding activities

Manages the parent volunteer list for game day snacks and drinks
